Freebie of the month: Deciding what to charge worksheet

For a while, I’ve been meaning to put together a “freebie of the month” file: something (hopefully!) useful for your freelance business. I finally got my act together to do this, and this month’s freebie is my Deciding what to charge worksheet, a simple spreadsheet (should take you less than 15 minutes to complete) that will help you calculate the monthly cost of running your business (tab 1), and then help you break that into an hourly or per-word rate.

My e-mail list subscribers are receiving this file on April 11. If you’re not yet on the Training for Translators list, sign up here, and the link to download the freebie file will be in your subscription confirmation e-mail!

Corinne McKay (classes@trainingfortranslators.com) is the founder of Training for Translators, and has been a full-time freelancer since 2002. An ATA-certified French to English translator and Colorado court-certified interpreter, she also holds a Master of Conference Interpreting from Glendon College. For more tips and insights, join the Training for Translators mailing list!
