Instructor: Corinne McKay, CT. Corinne is an ATA-certified French to English translator, a Colorado court-certified French interpreter, and holds a Master of Conference Interpreting from Glendon College. Corinne’s book How to Succeed as a Freelance Translator has sold over 12,000 copies and is a go-to reference for the translation and interpreting professions. In addition to her own translation and interpreting work, Corinne has written books and taught courses on translation business practices since 2005.
This master class is based on Corinne’s experience preparing for and passing (on the first try!) the Colorado Judicial Branch’s French court interpreter exam, the Glendon College Master of Conference Interpreting exit exams, and the SOSi immigration court interpreter exam.

Description: This 90-minute master class is for interpreters who would like to successfully prepare for and pass an interpreting exam. Exams are a reality of life as a professional interpreter. In this session, we’ll look at:
- How to prepare a training plan for any type of interpreting exam: court, medical conference, or anything else
- Why so many interpreters fail certification exams
- How to make the best use of the available resources for the exam you’re planning to take
- How to give yourself the best chance of success on exam day
