I keep forgetting to post this! On January 25, Eve Bodeux and I (in our incarnation as Speaking of Translation) hosted a free question and answer conference call. We solicited questions from the attendees in advance, then answered them live during the call. We have a free recording of the call on the Listen page of our website, where you can also access the URLs that we talk about during the call. In this call we answered questions about:
- Software for quality assurance and time tracking
- Marketing to direct clients using the “free trial offer approach” (this question was answered by our surprise guest, Chris Durban )
- Finding higher-paying agencies to apply to
- The future of translation and localization management
- Time management
- Choosing and learning to use a translation memory tool
Overall I think that the call went very well and we got some great feedback on it! Feel free to take a listen and let us know what you think.
Thank you so much, Corinne and Eve, for doing this call. I meant to listen live back in January but had difficulties joining (my Skype access code didn’t work). So I am thankful that you have the recording on your website.
As usual, it’s packed with lots of invaluable information. I learnt a few important new things and was especially interested in your answers regarding time management (love the “rule of one”) and how to figure out which translation tool might be a good fit for me.
Thanks again!
Klaudia
Thanks Klaudia! Since that call, Eve found that you need to look under Call>Show Dial Pad to enter the access code. Apparently the newest Skype version is not what’s shown in the conference calling service’s online help, but try that and it should work! Glad you enjoyed it, and definitely join us for our technology Q&A with Jost Zetzsche on March 21!
Million of THANKS! It is great, every minute of it. Soooo interesting, usfeul, excellent! Thanks again Corinne!
Thanks Dolores! Glad you enjoyed it!
