May online courses

The early bird deadline for May’s online courses is April 20; we have three excellent offerings open for registration! All courses start on May 3 and run for four weeks, with two live sessions per week, one hour each, plus individual feedback on four homework assignments.

–Translating for the international development sector, taught by Meghan Konkol and Corinne McKay, makes a return appearance after a sold-out session. International development translation is a lucrative and in-demand specialization, but it’s also a sector that works differently than many commercial translation specializations. “I really enjoyed the course. For anyone trying to figure out how to access the international development door, this course is for you! It’s very practical and full of a ton of useful information. And to top it all, Corinne and Meghan are accessible and offer individual and encouraging feedback,” says a past participant.

–Microsoft Word skills for translators, taught by Andie Ho. Tired of spending hours formatting transcripts and other documents in MS Word? Save time and aggravation by learning underutilized functions in Word. A past participant says, “I feel so much more confident using certain functions in Word now and started using them right away. I feel that I am spending less time on formatting, my documents look better, and my level of frustration with complex tables and bulleted lists is way down! 🙂”

–LinkedIn for translators and interpreters, taught by Madalena Sanchez Zampaulo. A massive and powerful search engine and community with opportunities to find and be found by your ideal clients, LinkedIn gives you the ability to connect with others in a meaningful way and grow your business. This course will uncover what you’ve been missing from the LinkedIn experience that will help you reach more of the right clients (and avoid the wrong ones).

Use any of the following discount codes that you qualify for if you’d like to register for one of these courses: ATA (members of the American Translators Association, save $15; NEW (if you’ve never taken a Training for Translators course before, save $10); ALUM (if you’ve taken a Training for Translators course before, save $15).
