Description: If you’re interested in using your translation and writing skills to branch out into an adjacent line of business, the corporate ghostwriting market could be for you!

Most of us have heard of the market for ghostwriting books, and this class will teach you transferable skills that you can use in that niche. But if you’d like to start by ghostwriting shorter pieces that are still well-paid, the corporate ghostwriting market is a good way to break in; it’s a service you may even be able to offer to executives in the companies you already work for.

Corporate executives have to write a lot: LinkedIn posts, company-wide e-mails, public announcements, the CEO section of the annual report, social media posts, speeches, conference presentations, and more.

Many corporate executives also hate writing, perceive that they’re not good writers, or don’t have time to write well. That’s where you, the corporate ghostwriter, come in.

Translators are naturally suited to this, because we already “ghostwrite” between two languages, when our target language really doesn’t have an equivalent word for the concept we’re trying to express. Translators are also skilled at expressing someone else’s voice, because that’s what we do all the time!

Ashley will address both the craft and business sides of corporate ghostwriting, including typical assignments, capturing your client’s voice, and how to find clients for these services.
